Where do I start? Jane is an absolute diamond who helped me so incredibly much with our appeal that we have had confirmation of today of winning! Jane talked me through all aspects of everything concerning the appeal & made me feel at ease with her kind words & warm character. I genuinely believe without Jane's help we wouldn't have won our appeal. Jane doesn't just help you win - she genuinely wants you to win! Thank you Jane so incredibly much. You are wonderful at what you do as well as being a wonderful person!

I just wanted to say thank you so much for that initial chat. You helped so much and I would totally recommend you to friends as you showed integrity of the highest order when advising us.

If you are looking for someone to provide invaluable support, advice, encouragement and expertise throughout an appeals process, your search should conclude here – Jane is who you are looking for. We discovered Jane via Google and we’re convinced that it changed our son’s life forever, for the better. We received a friendly, engaging reception at the outset, with Jane listening and questioning carefully, demonstrating her commitment to understanding our circumstances. We felt like Jane got to know us and genuinely cared. She guided us through the appeals process, step by step, so we were always well briefed on what we needed to know and do. Critically, Jane ensured that we could effectively articulate the basis for our appeal, firstly for our written statement and subsequently in ensuring we prepared properly for the appeals hearing. This gave us great confidence as we proceeded through unfamiliar and potentially daunting territory. We knew why we felt compelled to appeal but needed help to communicate our perspective coherently and compellingly. Jane made the key difference and equipped us to be an effective advocate for our son. She was rapidly responsive to our needs, encouraged us and gave emotional support so that we didn’t feel we were doing this on our own. A genuine partner. We knew we had to make an appeal but also knew the odds were heavily stacked against us given the popularity of the school and number of other appeals. Our appeal was successful and we couldn’t be happier. We will forever be grateful to Jane and we recommend her without reservation.
TM & JM, Kent, April 2020

We recently returned back from living abroad and found that all the schools in our area, were at capacity, in fact many were overflowing. We went through the usual actions of registering with the local authorities and putting our children on the waiting list and thought it was just a matter of waiting until, someone introduced us to Jane. From the minute we met Jane, she assured us that although on paper the schools were at capacity she would help us to find out the exact information that would give our children a fighting chance of the education they needed. The formal process of going to appeal can seem quite daunting especially with the forms that are sent through from the school, but Jane knew exactly which bits to highlight to us and coached us on the best words to use, when presenting our case. I am absolutely ecstatic to announce that not only did we manage to get our two children into the school of their choice, they have excelled and are integral members of the school. So if you are finding the appeals system difficult to navigate through and want someone who is both knowledgeable, practical and can guide you step by step through this process, I highly recommend you speak with Jane.
KL, March 2020

This is just a short note to anyone looking for your services. Firstly I would like to thank you for your services. Secondly both myself and K would like to comment on the amount of background work and advice given to us in preparation for our hearing of which we were advised by the said school we were appealing to we would not win! No stone was left unturned and we were very prepared for any questions aimed at us by the hearing. Of all the hearings that day and we were last, we were the only ones to win our appeal that day enabling X to be accepted back to his old school after being overseas. On top of this X is excelling in school proving the schools spokesperson totally wrong. All of this would not be possible without your guidance Jane. So for anybody looking for your services we can highly recommend you and are forever grateful.

Within moments of my first conversation with Jane I knew that she was the right person to help with our appeal. My son had not been allocated any of our preferred three school choices and the prospect of going to the school which was offered left my son feeling awfully anxious and sad. In addition to this we had a terrible family incident to deal with at the time. I was quite nervous about the whole process, but Jane inspired me with her in depth knowledge and gave me the confidence to progress with our appeal all the way from start to finish. At all times Jane was eager to help. We had many long, in depth conversations regarding the appeal and at no time was it too much trouble, infact quite the opposite. Jane was a pleasure to work with, sympathetic towards our situation, and with a vast knowledge of the whole appeals system she was able to guide me confidently throughout, and ultimately to securing my son a place at his chosen school. Thank you Jane.

After 3 years in a independent school and several major changes in our family circumstances, my daughter was again refused a state school place. I therefore contacted Jane after doing my research on the internet and she was definitely a god send. Jane is kind considerate, calm, a great listener and after I explained our family situation in full to her she agreed to help appeal for the school applied for.
We had long conversations on the phone, she was always there and so understanding, supporting and reassuring me all the way through a very difficult appeal.
She has so much expertise in education and pointed out some vital information in the council and school policies. Something which I would never have been able to highlight as this is not something I do on a daily basis. Following on, her fantastic knowledge and expertise found an error in the schools decision policy and although Jane wrote me a fantastic statement and we had an appeal date to attend. I was advised by Jane to contact the council and clarify how the decision was made. Within a couple of hours the local council emailed me stating they had made an error and my daughter was offered a place at the school of our choice and therefore we did not have to attend the appeal date!
As a parent, I can state how much that meant to me and my family and was only achieved with Janes help. She is an angel from above and again I am so grateful to her. Thank you Jane!

As soon as we received the letter, knowing that we had won the appeal, my son said to me, "This piece of paper will change my next few years of education." I felt so happy for him as my son had longed to go to this school. Without Jane’s professional help, we wouldn’t have gotten this far.

From the first moment Jane picked up the phone I knew I had called the right person. Appealing for your child's school is very stressful, but with Jane’s guidance I felt completely supported every step of the way. Her knowledge and caring nature has been invaluable at such a difficult time.
L, Buckinghamshire, May 2019

Jane was so kind and empathetic to our situation, providing us with excellent advice which enabled us to construct a comprehensive written statement at a time which was extremely stressful. Jane was always at hand to offer her expertise and was very flexible with supporting us with emails/phone calls to suit our particular circumstances. We would highly recommend Jane, as she gave us very personal advice and after the first phone call, we knew that she was the right person to support us with her strong sense of honesty and integrity.

Our son was really struggling at his school. Jane was so sympathetic and kind, and really helped reassure us through a really anxious process. She really helped us put our appeal together, both in talking us through the process, advising on dos and don'ts, helping write our case, and preparing for the hearing. Thank you so much for helping us win our appeal.
TY, October 2018

We are pleased to say we have today received a letter from the council and appeal panel to say we have won the appeal for our daughter and she can now attend the local school. We are still in shock!! This would not have been possible without your expertise and we are so so grateful for your help throughout.

I was lost! I needed to appeal a school's rejection of my Year 8 daughter's admission application, but had no idea how to go about it. I was an amateur, so decided to seek out the advice of a professional. I'm so glad I did, as Jane Sutton helped me enormously with every aspect of the appeal process. What I found the best, was Jane's natural way of calming my rising panic and giving me a sense of hope, where before there was none. I would recommend Jane Sutton to every parent out there that wants a chance of success with their school's admission appeal. In fact, I found her services rather appealing!
GJ, Surry, October 2016

Tom started school at Kings' this week, shadowing one of his friends. I'm sure there will be a few bumps as he settles in, but neither of us could imagine him being elsewhere and it's great seeing him surrounded by an automatic bunch of friends there! So happy for him.

The stresses and strains put onto a family when a child gets refused a place at their choice of school is unimaginable – not to mention the worry and anxiety when choosing to go down the appeal route. After weeks of trawling the internet looking for support and advice about how to tackle an appeal, we stumbled on Jane’s site. Making the initial call to her was the best thing we ever did. Her words of advice about how to approach the appeal was invaluable. We would highly recommend her service.

I just wanted to say thank you very much for all of the support that you have given me through the appeal process. You carefully explained the process and the pitfalls to me and your advice and information has been invaluable in me negotiating my way through. The summary document that you produced of the concerns that I had for the appeal submission took an enormous amount of stress and pressure off of me. We have had such an excellent outcome in a speedy manner which has really helped us in now being able to plan for next year. I have a very happy son!

In April of this year our family were devastated when we were informed by the local LA that our youngest grandson hadn’t been allocated a place at the primary school where he had attended nursery for five terms and the school where his older brother was. A friend recommended ringing Jane to see if she could help us. It was the best phone call we made. Jane was extremely helpful and talked us calmly through the appeal procedure - giving not just advice but also hope and reassurance. Her advice was easy to understand and imparted with compassion (an appeal is a daunting process) not only that, she was always on the end of a telephone in our darker moments! Thanks to Jane we went into the appeal fully equipped with the relevant information needed to present our case in the best possible way. I am pleased to say we were one of the lucky families who had their appeal upheld, in no small part due to Jane’s help, knowledge and professionalism. I cannot speak more highly of her and would urge anyone in a similar situation to give Jane a call. Not only did she help us immensely with the actual appeal in July but followed that up with an email to see how my grandson had settled into school this September – thank you Jane!
GS, Cumbria, October 2015

Jane Sutton helped us lodge an appeal in Birmingham where the likelihood of wining an appeal was near enough impossible. Jane was absolutely fantastic and her dedication to our case was very impressive. Jane was able to build a clear picture of my daughter; her needs and of my family by asking searching questions in order to understand our personal circumstances, thus produce an impressive, comprehensive appeal statement. Jane’s knowledge of the appeal process was second to none. She was professional, genuine and very honest and did the best she could to put you at ease through out the whole process. We exchanged several phone calls and emails and I found it was never a problem contacting her any time of the day. She was just brilliant. As a result we successfully won our appeal and I couldn’t have done it without her. Jane, thank you so much.

The first time we contacted Jane by telephone, she gave us her time to explain our family's circumstances. We knew from Jane's experienced advice that she was the lady to help us. Jane took up our challenging case for an infant class size appeal, she gathered all the evidence for the case and made sense of it all, working on it tirelessly. Jane put this appeal case on another level that we could not have done by ourselves. She was there when ever we had a question and gave us reassurance. All of the hard work was made worthwhile when our daughter's appeal was granted. It has been a pleasure to work with Jane. She does her job very well and we can't thank her enough for all that she has done for our family.
Thank you for helping to make our family very happy.
MO, Oxfordshire, July 2014

Finding out that your child has not achieved the school of your choice is stressful enough, but having to deal with the appeals process and the various, often complicated policies on top of this is enough to give one a nervous break-down!! After our first conversation with Jane, it became apparent we had struck gold. She was sympathetic, caring, genuine and scrupulous in her attention to detail. She was truthful and did not give false hope, which we appreciated. She also responded quickly and efficiently to emails and was available for advice at any time. Both at the appeal and in the days leading up to it, she was a brilliantly calming influence and her breadth of knowledge and perceptive questioning was of enormous benefit on the day. We genuinely believe this, combined with her attention to detail and perfectionism led to the successful outcome of our case.
J&CE, Yorkshire, July 2014

Jane helped us at a time when we were at rock bottom. Our 9-year-old son, who is diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, had been permanently excluded from his independent school and we desperately needed to get both our children into a good local primary school where they actually practised inclusivity rather than giving it lip-service, a school where 'special needs' was not seen as a problem that had to be removed at all costs.
We came across nothing but obstacles until I called Jane. Her calm, knowledgeable manner was immediately reassuring. She spent a lot of time with us on the phone and email, helping us to prepare a case for appeal. She advised us on what to say and write and as a result we were offered places at the school of our choice without needing to go to an appeal.
Jane was an invaluable support to us, as she believed in our case and fought for us with all her skill and tenacity. Our son is now thriving and we couldn't be more grateful to Jane for helping us make this happen.

Thank you so much for your help and support during what was a very difficult few weeks. We looked at a few experts before we engaged your services - our reasons for choosing you was your very personal approach. You listened, understood our worries and could see that this was not just about a process but about our child. You were very approachable and responded quickly to any queries we had. You gave us clear advice and worked with us to help put our case together - advising us on the points to emphasise using your excellent knowledge of the admissions and appeals process. We were lucky, our son was offered a waiting list place so we did not have to go through with our appeal. We are, however, still glad that we had you to support and guide us through the difficult weeks prior to us receiving the offer. You made a very traumatic time much easier and helped us to remain positive and focused.

As a family we went through a difficult time. When I decided that my son needed to change school, Jane was amazing. She helped, advised and supported me during the appealing and we won!
Now, we have back again a happy, laughing and live enjoying child.
I could't have done it without her help, thank you so much Jane!

I found Jane to be both professional and easy to talk to. Jane is always available on the phone or e mail at any time. Jane only ever supported me and gave me the confidence to believe in myself at a time when I really needed it and that "Every child has the right to be happy in the School of their choice". Still to this day, Jane keeps in touch to ask after our son and family.
CM, Bristol, October 2013

Like many of you looking at Jane's website today I was desperate, worried, stressed and did not know who to turn to after finding out my Granddaughter did not get into the school she needed to go to. After going through the exam process we received the dreaded letter letting us know she was not successful Kate, her Mum and myself were devastated. Kate had never had a problem in school, her attendance was excellent, her SATs results were above average. She attended from a very young age dance, Brownies, Girl Guides all in all a really nice young girl. The problem was the school Kate wanted to go to was out of the catchment area. The school had on average over 600 applicants for year 7 and only had 130 places for that year 7. It was a slim chance she would get a place only 12 places were given out at random to children who had not meet the criteria. We were lost looking at the appeal form we did not have a clue and we were way over our heads at this point.
However, luck was on our side when I contacted Jane and over the weeks we worked together to come up with a statement for the appeals panel. During this time with lots of emails and very long phones calls with Jane a story unfolded which I did not think was relevant but it was. I had not realized how important social background and what other people do to your family can impact on your statement. Kate and her mum, who works hard on very low wages, live in a small two bed property on a difficult housing estate with lots of crime and unemployment. Very few and far between have been given places from our area and we wondered if we were aiming too high. How would we know how to deal with an appeals panel whose decision is legally binding?
Jane gave us tips on how to move forward and she guided us on how we should conduct ourselves. The statement was finally finished and it was an excellent piece of work. Kate's mum and myself went to the appeals panel and I could have done much better but nerves got the better of me. However, Jane had took time out to explain a minor piece of information in the pack we had got from the school and this information won the day. The devil is in the detail that's for sure. Yes we had a great statement and yes we had a model student but this small buried piece of information got our girl the result we were praying for. Kate was 1 out of 6 places given at appeal out of 60+. Today Kate is in one of the top two schools in our city. She is so proud to be attending this school and has settled in well. The rest of her family are amazed she has got her place at this prestigious school and she has set new standards within her own family. When I see my Granddaughter walking down the street in her uniform I could cry with happiness. As for the fee which was paid to Jane she is worth her weight in gold, she was our only shot at success and we will always be indebted to her. Don't let your only chance pass by, Jane is as good as her word, after all she is a sly old fox!
JH, Liverpool, September 2013

Jane's support throughout my son's case has been above and beyond the money we paid for her services. Her knowledge on the procedures and hidden meaning behind the wordings the schools and local authorities use is excellent. This is further strengthened by her experience of working with local authorities for school placement appeals. Her responses, to us as clients, were virtually immediate. We could not have asked for anymore of a closer working relationship. Initially , we thought that we could do this process on our own - after all it was just a paper filling exercise and then an interview - but her initial free advice over the phone made us realise that she had knowledge that we clearly did not have, and that if we were going to do this, then we needed good advice and experienced guidance - Thank you Jane for all the time you spent with us and all of your hard work.

C&GM-G, Gloucestershire, May 2013

On receiving the news that our son had not been accepted into any one of our preferred school choices, both my partner and I were devastated and obviously thought the worst. Luckily, I found details of Jane's consultancy services after having viewed a number of other school appeal websites and quickly found that claims of her experience and expertise were more than well founded and that the accuracy of her advice and overall professionalism were second-to-none. Only a day after contacting Jane about our situation via e-mail, we had managed to speak in detail - over the phone - about options for my son. By the end of the same day I had gained a detailed understanding of Local Authority Appeals protocols, common do's and don'ts, options other than appealing and together we had managed to come up with some robust strategies to help get my son into a better school than we had been allocated. Overall, Jane is very pro-active in wanting to learn about your situation and the intricacies of your case and will provide you with honest and impartial advice based on her personal experiences in having worked both sides of the fence in school appeals arena. Thank you very much Jane for your help, advice and understanding.
MG, York, May 2013

Just wanted to drop you a quick line to say how grateful I am for the help, support and guidance you have given throughout the appeal process.
From the moment I picked up the phone in my very emotional state to us presenting/arguing our case today. You have worked tirelessly to allow the panel to make their decision today. Thank you. I'm so glad I didn't have to read my case [as we won at Stage1], although I'm certain that as they were able to read it prior, it may have had something to do with the outcome.
After leaving you, I phoned my mum, who joined in my tears of joy along with my friends. I then went and bought [my son] his new school jumper Smile which I presented to him when I went to pick him up. He jumped on me and gave me the biggest hug and said 'Well done!'. Wish you could have seen it as I'm positive it was for you as much as for me. He proceeded to write his name on the tag and tried it on, he wanted to keep it on all evening, who am I to argue?
We have both been very hyper this evening and I'm currently enjoying a well deserved glass of wine, I hope you have a glass too. If so, cheers!

Martin and I cannot thank you enough for all your hard work, kindness and inspiration when dealing with our son's appeal! It seems hard to believe that just a few weeks ago we were sat here trying to figure out where on earth to start, when by chance we found you on the internet! We needed a miracle to get our son from a poorly performing school into the best school on the island, which as always was well oversubscribed. You were our miracle!
You worked far and beyond the call of duty on our behalf, even on what was supposed to be your holiday and through family illness. You provided us with such a strong case for appeal that only the most hardened of panel members could have turned us down. With your support, right up until the final minute, we were confident enough to go into the hearing and face whatever might be thrown at us. We could never have done it without you and will have no hesitation whatsoever in passing your details on to any family having the same problems we did.
AD, Isle of Wight, October 2012

Jane helped with my appeal to get my two daughters into a Bristol school. From the first time that we spoke on the phone I knew that I had made the right choice. Jane knows the appeal system inside out and immediately identified the strong points of our case and told me which points would be less helpful. I provided her with information and she then drafted my appeal statement which was very detailed and clearly written. I chose to represent myself at the appeal hearing but Jane prepared me very well for what would otherwise have been a very daunting experience. I don't think I could have won the appeal without her guidance and support. She was unfailing helpful, informative, professional, encouraging and generous with her time. I would thoroughly recommend Jane to anyone having to go through the appeals process because she really becomes involved in the case and cares about the outcome. Not only does she have expert knowledge, she is also a lovely person and I am disappointed that I didn't actually get to meet her as our contact was all by phone and email!
LM, Bristol, September 2012

Thank you for all your help. I know without your help and fountain of knowledge I would never have won the appeal. I hope your business continues to grow and I'm sure you will continue to make a lot of parents an children very happy.
RN Cumbria, July 2012

Jane, thank you so much for your support during this difficult process. I was reassured by your technical expertise and I loved the way you were also not afraid to challenge my thinking when required. You worked beyond the call of duty, working at weekends and early hours of the morning when required. I soon learned that as soon as I e-mailed you, I would get an immediate response. This was a difficult emotional journey for me and you also kept my strength going until the end. I sincerely hope I don't ever have to go through a similar process in the future, but if I do I would not hesitate to come back to you… thank you again!

We have gained places in our first and second choices and are very happy with the services she has provided for us. From the start Jane has been positive, informative, easy to talk to, she is also dedicated and meets deadlines often up late evening and early hours of the morning working on our case. I know this by what time I have received her emails. She cares about what she does. Because of her help I can see a future for my daughter's education.
KB, Bristol, July 2012

We are so grateful to Jane for her guidance and assistance on the production and management of our sons appeal case. Her experience and advice provided a written response to the Local Authority which we simply could not have produced without her, and my wife is a teacher! In my view Jane went above and beyond expectations. She certainly didn't provide something off the shelf, it was specific to our son produced from information we provided. In addition to that and perhaps of most value of all was informing us what would actually happen on the day, the questions to ask, what you should expect the panel to do and what they are not allowed to do, this in addition to providing guidance on verbal statements. Incredible value and I would recommend her to absolutely anyone.

Before I contacted Jane, my wife and I were very concerned about our daughters school place and could do little but worry. After having had my initial conversation with Jane, we felt more positive, with Jane offering support and expert knowledge. We discussed a structured plan on how to proceed, and Jane's professionalism shone through when we started to communicate with the council. Resulting in my daughter getting the school place she deserved. Emails were answered with speed and efficiency and calls were always answered by Jane. Thank you so much.

I am extremely pleased to tell you school admissions have just rung and have offered a place. As you can imagine it's a huge weight lifted off our shoulders and we're very happy. I'd like to say a massive thank you to you for all your help and support. I'd be more than happy to recommend you and your services to anyone.

I cannot imagine for one moment how we would have approached the school appeal on behalf of our son with any degree of confidence had we not engaged Jane's help. Through her support and advice we were able to put together a strong and well documented case and we were very well prepared on how to deal with the difficult emotions of the appeal process. Although I am ecstatic having been successful I was convinced at a very early stage that we did the right thing by investing in Jane's expertise, win or lose.
LJ, Lincolnshire, May 2012

We have recently used Jane to help us with a primary school appeal process- from the first phone call Jane provided insight and detailed knowledge of the application system and indeed nothing was too much trouble. Given the limited time we had to prepare our case Jane helped us to understand the system, helped us ask the right questions of the local authority and provide us with the support we needed. Jane proved invaluable and we were successful in overturning the local authority's original decision! I could not recommend Jane highly enough.

My husband and I were so happy with the service provided by Jane Sutton. Her dedication to our daughters case was remarkable. She genuinely cared and worked day and night to help us win the appeal. Her knowledge of the appeals process is impressive. She explained everything and reassured us every step of the way. Jane is thorough and without her advice I don't think we would have won our appeal.

My wife and I can't thank you enough for all your help over the weeks leading up to the appeal hearing. You helped to explain how the process works clearly and simply, drawing on your extensive experience in this field. You helped us to understand how an appeal could be won and what arguments and information were best to present. You were sympathetic to the unique situation of our family and you were flexible and supportive of our needs. Most of all your approach showed us that you genuinely cared about our family and the case, and I think that gave us an advantage in the appeals process. We were confident in our approach knowing we had Jane Sutton on our side. Whether we had won or lost we would have been delighted with the service you offered, but we were always going to win with your help. For all your support we are eternally grateful, especially our daughter who you have ensured now attends the school she always wanted to.

Jane assisted us with our appeal and it quickly became clear that her expert knowledge, professionalism and dedication were going to be of huge assistance when faced with our son's appeal. For any parent facing the same issue the sheer volume of information that exists is daunting enough but when you add to this the uncertainty surrounding the appeals process, it is clear you need someone who knows the system and can provide expert help, guidance and reassurance. I have and will continue to recommend Jane to any other parent in similar circumstances.

We were appealing against infant class sizes for Kingmoor Nursery and Infant School, Carlisle. Jane is honest and explains everything, every step of the way. She helped us from start to finish, from help with writing our statement, giving advice and reassurance along the way, to attending our appeal hearing with us and helping us to put our case. She worked day and night to help us and our daughter, she treated it like it was her own child's appeal. I can honestly say Jane is worth her weight in gold and that I would happily use her again and I have already recommended her to friends. We could not have won our difficult appeal with out Jane.

I can't say enough about the excellent service we received from Jane. From the minute I contacted her I felt great relief that I had found the best person to help fight my daughter's appeal. Her knowledge, dedication and professionalism definitely won the case for us.
